Let’s talk about metabolism. I am sure you have heard different things on the topic and have a few questions.

What role do genes play?

How is it that some people stay thin no matter how much they eat, while others find it harder to lose weight?

Does age matter? 

I am all about separating fact from fiction, so let’s dig in shall we?

  • Genetics do play a big role. This explains why some people seem to be able to eat whatever they want.
  • As age goes up, metabolism and metabolic rate do indeed go down. This explains why things that worked in your 20s may not work now.
  • As height goes down, metabolism and metabolic ratego down. So those who are “vertically challenged” do have to put in more work to maintain a healthy weight. So sorry!
  • As weight goes down, metabolism and metabolic rate also go down. I know, it doesn’t seem fair but it is true! The less you weigh, the less your body burns. And, it’s a BIG reason why those who don’t have the proper tools and coaching regain. Thankfully, our 5E Method will ensure that you don’t become a casualty of this.
