How Done-for-You Podcast Pitching Services Help You Spread Your God-Given Message: Part 3 of 5
Let’s face it: marketing is hard work. There’s no magic solution to get more attention for your message without any effort whatsoever. But that doesn’t mean you have to do all that work yourself. Done-for-you podcast pitching services are exactly what they sound like — someone else does the work for you, freeing you to focus your time and energy on other things.
If you missed the previous posts on this topic, you can catch up here.
Let’s look at benefit #3: You save time not having to do the work yourself.
If you want to be successful, you need to be able to manage your time effectively. That means understanding which tasks really need your time and attention, and making those things a priority.
One useful tool for prioritizing and managing time is called the “Eisenhower Box” or “Eisenhower Matrix.” Here’s how it works.
First, make a giant to-do list of everything you want or need to get done. Then sort your tasks into four categories:
- Urgent and important: These are tasks that are very important for you to focus on, and they need your attention right now. In other words, they can’t be done by anyone else but you, and they have a deadline that is coming up very soon. Do these tasks today, or as soon as possible.
- Important, but not urgent: These are tasks that you need to do, but you don’t have a set deadline for when you need to finish them. Because there’s no deadline, it’s very easy to keep putting them off indefinitely and never actually get around to doing them. Schedule these tasks for a specific date and time so you won’t forget about them while taking care of the more urgent tasks.
- Urgent, but not important: These are tasks that need to be done soon, but they don’t necessarily need YOU to do them. If you spend your time and energy on these tasks, you may not have time for the important tasks that aren’t as urgent. Delegate these tasks to someone else who can do them for you.
- Neither important nor urgent: These are tasks that might be nice to get done, but that don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. They won’t help you get closer to your goals or add much value to your life. Remove these tasks from your to-do list. (You can always add them back later if you have extra time or they become important.)
Prioritizing your tasks like this helps ensure you have time for the things that really need your attention, instead of focusing on other things that someone else could do or that don’t really need done at all.
For an example, let’s look at where sending pitches to podcasts falls in the Eisenhower Box.
Is it urgent? Yes! If you’re going to appear on other people’s podcasts, you have to send out pitches first. The longer you wait, the longer it will take for you to get booked.
Is it important? Remember, “important” in this case means “important for YOU to focus on.” Sending podcast pitches is very important for getting more attention for your book, podcast, ministry, or business. But, realistically, you have more important things to focus on. Like serving your clients or customers, sharing your God-given message with others, growing your business or ministry, or even writing your next book!
So why spend all your time crafting and sending pitches when you could simply have someone else do it — and get results — for you?
